We are Rare Fiction, an indie rock band from Bristol, TN. Powerful guitar riffs, endearing vocals, and catchy melodies define our sound with dynamic songs that deal with themes of love, longing, and self-discovery that transition between energetic anthems and reflective ballads.
Rare Fiction features Chris Martin on vocals and acoustic / electric guitar, Lee Jones on bass and vocals, James Eaton on lead electric guitar and vocals, and Chris Blevins on drums (that's right – we are a 2-chris band!).
Our music can be heard anywhere you stream music (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc.). "Reboot" was our very first single and highlights our upbeat guitar-driven sound. Our latest single "Reasons" continues the legacy of upbeat music with more introspective lyrics.
Our most recent EP, So, What Now? EP with 7 new original songs dropped in May of 2025. Our last EP called You Know It's True EP was released in 2024 and features 8 original songs.

Our standard set list is around 2 hours. The majority of the songs are our originals with a few covers across genres and decades. We are comfortable in almost any space inside and out, playing acoustic or full band, and have previously played for as short as 45 mins and as long as 4 hours. We have also shared the stage with well-known local bands like Alpine Motel, Tell Ripley, and Banjo Bar-Bee and the Buzz.
As a band available for hire we've performed live at venues throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia such as Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City, and beyond. Venues include Preservation Pub (Knoxville, TN), Squabble State Hard Cider & Spirits (Bristol, VA), Machiavelli's, Bristol Hard Rock Casino, High Voltage, Gypsy Circus Cider (Kingsport, TN), High Knob Outdoor Festival (Lebanon, VA), Jiggy Ray's Downtown Pizzeria, Mountain Bar and Grill, Jonesborough Barrel House & Tavern, Lonesome Pine Brewing Co., Blue Circle, The Damascus Brewery, State Line Bar & Grill, and others.
